If you have ever spent time in the North of Italy (think Torin or Milan) you will love Baccomatto Osteria. The food is as genuinely Italian as the waiters! My favourite way to eat here is to order off the small plates menu. All of these dishes and meats are made in house and they taste like they are fresh from Italy. I love the porchetta and the foccacia which are both made in house, the foccacia melts in your mouth with an olive oil and salty edge. The spicy salami is hot, but tasty if you can get past the fire in your mouth. My kids loved the tallegio and roasted potatoes. The handmade pasta is true Italian style where the emphasis is on great pasta and a tasty sauce, but the pasta remains the star of the dish. I highly recommend ordering a carafe of their Italian house red wine to go with dinner – it is delicious.
