Freshwater Beach

Freshwater Beach is Manly’s lesser-known northern neighbour. While it may not rival the famous Corso in the dining stakes, nor Manly Beach in popularity, the aptly-named Freshwater Beach sure comes ahead in beauty and seclusion.

Flanked by headlands at either end, it offers great swimming, body boarding and surfing conditions. In fact, this is the very beach where surfing was introduced to Australia, through Duke Kahanamoku’s demonstration that popularised the sport back in 1915. A historically great place to try out the Sydney surf!
